Rush and Same-Day Process Serving in Michigan
When a hearing date, an expiring summons, or a protective order sets the clock, a rush assignment moves ahead of routine work. Rush and same-day options are available across Michigan, seven days a week.
How fast a serve finishes depends on where the person is and when the papers reach us. What we control is how soon the first attempt happens, when the follow-up attempts are made, and how carefully each one is recorded.
Assignments that usually arrive as rush
- A summons close to its 91-day expiration
- A subpoena for a hearing only days away
- A personal protection order, or a motion to show cause with a hearing date
- Eviction notices where the notice period needs to start
Sending a rush assignment
Call while the papers are on the way
A phone call at any hour lets the server be lined up before the documents arrive.
Send every address you have
Home, work and any second address, with the hours the person is usually at each one.
Add a description
A physical description and vehicle details help the server identify the right person at the door.
State the real deadline
Give the hearing date or the summons issue date, so attempts are planned inside the window that actually applies.
Get the record back
A completed serve returns as a notarized affidavit, and any attempt that did not succeed is logged with its time and place.
Rush service questions
Is rush service available on weekends and holidays?
Yes. Rush service runs seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.
What makes a rush serve go faster?
Complete information. Every current address, the person’s usual hours, a description and the deadline let the first attempt happen at the right place and time.
Can you promise the papers will be served by a certain hour?
No process server can promise when someone will answer the door. We start promptly, attempt at the times the person is most likely to be there, and document every visit.
